Terms of Service

Last updated 2 May 2026

These terms govern your use of AriyoEvents — the websiteapp.ariyoevents.comand the AriyoEvents iOS / Android apps, together “the platform”. They're a contract between you and D3F Solutions, a Nigerian company doing business as AriyoEvents.

We've kept these intentionally short. The goal is fair use, not legalese.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account, signing in (with email + password, Google, Facebook, or Apple), or otherwise using the platform, you confirm you have read and accepted these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

You also accept our Privacy Policy,Community Guidelines, and Refund Policy — all four documents work together.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • You must be legally able to enter into binding contracts under Nigerian law (or the law of your country if outside Nigeria).
  • If you create an account on behalf of an organisation (a wedding committee, a church, a company), you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.

Your account

  • One person, one account. Don't create duplicate accounts to evade a suspension.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. If you spot unauthorised activity, change your password and email support@ariyoevents.com immediately.
  • If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, the same account is reachable across providers as long as the email matches — we don't create a duplicate.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, the Community Guidelines, or Nigerian law. We'll tell you why except where doing so would tip off bad actors.

If you host events

  • You are the event organiser.AriyoEvents is the software you use to run it — we're not the host, the caterer, the venue, or the producer. You're responsible for the event itself: the venue, programming, safety, capacity, licences, security, refunds, and complying with local regulations.
  • Your description must be accurate.Date, time, venue, what's included with each ticket, age restrictions — all real, not bait.
  • Platform fee: 1.5% of every paid ticket, capped at ₦1,000 per ticket. The fee covers our platform plus the underlying bank charge. Fee changes require 30 days' notice via the in-app inbox.
  • Settlement: we settle ticket revenue (minus the fee) into the bank account you give us, within 7 business days of the event ending — sooner if the event runs over a weekend with no chargeback risk.
  • You promise not to list: illegal goods or services, firearms, narcotics, recruitment to violence, ponzi-style investment events, or anything that violates Nigerian law. We can take a listing down without notice if it does.
  • Refunds remain your decision when the event still happens (see Refund Policy). If you cancel the event, you must refund attendees in full within 14 days; we may refund directly on your behalf and deduct from your settlement.

If you attend events

  • Your pass is non-transferableunless the host explicitly says otherwise. The QR / entry code is bound to your account; selling it on doesn't guarantee entry.
  • Refunds: the host decides their refund policy. If the host cancels the event, they (or we, on their behalf) issue a full refund. See Refund Policy.
  • At the gate the host or their scanner staff may ask for ID matching the name on your pass.
  • In communitiesyou join for events you're registered for, follow the Community Guidelines. We can remove posts and members who don't.

If you list as a vendor

  • You confirm you have any licences, permits, or registrations required to provide the services you list (catering, sound, photography, decor, etc.).
  • Quotes you send through AriyoEvents are binding offers — once the host accepts, you're contractually obliged to deliver.
  • Reviews left by hosts who actually engaged your services are your hosts' honest opinion. We don't edit them. You can reply to a review publicly.
  • We currently charge no fee on vendor bookings. We'll give 30 days' notice if that changes.

If you act as a scanner

A host can grant you scanner permissions for an event so you can check guests in at the gate. By accepting that role you agree to:

  • Use the scanner only for the event you were granted access to.
  • Not share guest information you see (name, email, ticket type) with anyone outside the event team.
  • Stop using the scanner immediately if the host revokes your access.

Payments

All card and bank transfer payments are processed by 9 Payment Service Bank (9PSB), a CBN-licensed Nigerian bank. We never see, store, or process your card number, CVV, PIN, or bank password.

If you spot a fraudulent charge, contact us first within 7 days and we'll investigate. If unresolved within 14 days, you may escalate to your card issuer or to 9PSB directly.

Content you post

You own what you post — community posts, photos, event listings, vendor portfolio, reviews. By posting, you grant AriyoEvents a non-exclusive, world-wide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, store, display, and adapt that content for the strict purpose of operating the platform (showing it to other authorised users, generating thumbnails, indexing for search). The licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.

You promise that what you post is yours to share — that you either own the copyright or have permission from whoever does. If we receive a credible takedown notice we'll remove the content first and ask questions after.

Things you must not do

See the full list in our Community Guidelines. The headlines:

  • Impersonate someone else (host, brand, government, us).
  • Post hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or violent content.
  • Run scams, ponzi schemes, or fake giveaways.
  • Use the platform to send unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or rate-limit-abuse our APIs.
  • Try to break security — unauthorised access, brute-force, SQL injection, etc. We prosecute.

Our intellectual property

The AriyoEvents name, logo (the green-A spark mark), brand colours, and the platform itself (code, design, content) are owned by D3F Solutions. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without written permission, except as necessary to use the platform normally.

Things we don't promise (disclaimer)

We work hard to keep the platform reliable and the data secure, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • That events listed by hosts will go ahead as advertised.
  • That third-party services (sign-in providers, payments, location lookup) won't go down.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, AriyoEvents and its officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages.
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
  • The conduct of hosts, attendees, vendors, or scanners — they're responsible for their own actions.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of your use of the platform is capped at the platform fees you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or ₦20,000 — whichever is greater.

None of the above limits liability for things Nigerian law says cannot be limited (gross negligence, wilful misconduct, personal injury caused by us, etc.).

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify AriyoEvents against third-party claims arising from your breach of these terms, your event (if you're a host), your services (if you're a vendor), or your content. We'll tell you promptly if a claim comes in and let you take over the defence at your own cost if you want to.

Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events outside reasonable control — natural disasters, civil unrest, government action, internet-backbone outages, third-party hosting failure, pandemics. Each side notifies the other in good faith and we both work to mitigate.

Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing support@ariyoevents.com (see also the Privacy Policy).

We can close your accountimmediately if you breach these terms in a way that harms other users or exposes us to legal risk. For lesser breaches we'll warn you first and give you a reasonable chance to fix it.

On termination, sections that should reasonably survive (Liability, Indemnity, IP, Governing law) continue to apply.

Changes

We'll update these terms when the product changes meaningfully. Substantive changes get an in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect, so you have time to close your account if you don't like them. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

Dispute resolution

Step 1 — talk to us. Email support@ariyoevents.com with a clear description of the problem and what outcome you're looking for. We respond within 7 business days.

Step 2 — mediation. If we can't resolve it informally within 30 days, both sides agree to attempt mediation under the rules of the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse (a Nigerian court-annexed mediation centre) before going to court.

Step 3 — courts. Anything still unresolved after mediation is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Severability and waiver

If a court finds any provision unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce any right doesn't waive that right.
